The Sweet Giving Season Starts Now.
Share your Moments. Your Memories. And most of all, your Dessert. Nobody says no to dessert. That’s why delectable desserts serve as the centerpiece of our mission to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research and care.
At Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer, we are proud of the Boston community and inspired by the audacious creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of the people in our great Commonwealth state. Our fundraising efforts are dedicated to ensuring the well being of the people in our community, as well as the cities and towns in which they reside.
What began as a small, local breast cancer fundraising event, has turned into one of the sweetest weeks in Boston. Originally conceived as the Eva Brownman Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, we officially became Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 14 years ago. Partnered with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we have enjoyed tremendous success in our fundraising efforts, thanks to the people of our great Commonwealth.
Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2012 raised over $78,000 for breast cancer. Funds raised were shared with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc. a non-profit breast cancer organization.
We are proud to announce in 2010, our total giving to Dana-Farber Caner Institute reached over $1.4 million dollars. Our commitment to the cause has raised money for several cutting-edge clinical trials, visiting professorships, and the establishment of a psychosocial research and support program for patients and their families.
Our mission is simple; eat sweets to do good things. And as any dessert connoisseur will tell you, the best desserts are always calorie and guilt free. The Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer cause is a ‘good-for-you’ indulgence because by simply eating sweets you make good things happen for those in need. Perhaps that’s the sweetest reason why so many Bostonians choose to support us.
Previously a part of The Eva Brownman Breast Cancer Fund, Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer is now registered through the Attorney General’s Office as an official commercial co-venture.
Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2012 raised over $78,000 for breast cancer. Funds raised were shared with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc. a non-profit breast cancer organization. Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2011 raised almost $79,000. This year, with the help of our participating establishments and their dessert loving guests, we hope to break the one hundred thousand dollar mark of funds raised through Boston Bakes in a calendar year!
Our Heart is our People and the City, Our Soul.
Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer which is a part of Bakes for Breast Cancer,Inc. is a grassroots, non-profit organization committed to ending breast cancer in our lifetime. We are dedicated to caring for the wellness of our people and the cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth.
Our food-centric fundraising activities and events require lots of good eating. We are an independent voice that supports the creative expressions of some of the greatest Chef’s, Pastry Chef’s and culinary artists in the country. At Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer, we always satisfy our participating foodies love of good food while satisfying our desire to raise money for a good cause.
How are we able to maintain such a strong relevance, year after year, within the community? What continues to make us able to tap into our consumer’s passions and lifestyles like no other ‘Charity Cause Team’ can? Primarily it’s because we’ve built a strong relationship with our participants and sponsor community, but also because our brand of giving really gives.
Nowadays people tend to dip in and out of the latest trends in fashion and food and even charitable giving. However Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer is still going strong. We’re in our 14th year. We don’t work at giving because it’s cool, we work at giving because we care. And we continue to care, year after year, because until there’s a cure, we will still fight the good fight.
For local participants, getting involved with Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer is a really personal thing. It’s all about celebrating snapshots of life. Maybe it’s the birth of a new family member. A party to celebrate the great report card that’s hanging on the refrigerator. Toasting a new job or promotion. Or a gathering that will celebrate the safe return of a soldier.
For tourists who come upon a Boston Bakes For Breast Cancer event by surprise, it’s a warm way for us to welcome them to our city. And a delicious way for tourists to say, ‘thank you,’ to the host city of Boston and it’s people.

Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer 2013 is dedicated to the memory of Anna Guarino, aunt of our longtime friend Joanna Roffo from Regan Communications Group who has helped and supported Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer for many years.
